Every New Fish Added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in July

With the new month coming up, July brings with it new creatures for Animal Crossing: New Horizons islands. While fans won't have to say goodbye to many fish when June leaves, there will new fish returning to bodies of water at an Animal Crossing island near you.

Most fish tend to stick around through the whole year, but some fish will cycle in and out of Animal Crossing: New Horizon island waters. In order for players to fill their Animal Crossing museums with all the creatures in the game, knowing what fish are available at any given time is helpful in the quest to catch them all.

Each hemisphere has its own seasons corresponding to the real world, so depending on where an island is located, there are different fish available. If players want to experience the new fish for themselves, they may want to turn away now to avoid spoilers.

There are only five new fish coming to the northern hemisphere this month, and with only one fish heading out to other waters with the arrival of July.

Sweetfish [900 Bells] - River (Medium-small), All Day

Napoleonfish [10,000 Bells] - Sea (Huge), 4 am to 9 pm

Puffer fish [250 Bells] - Sea (Medium-small), All Day

Blue marlin [10,000 Bells] - Pier (Huge), All Day

Ocean sunfish [4,000 Bells] - Sea (Huge with fin), 4 am to 9 pm

July isn't bringing any new fish to the southern hemisphere, but no fish are leaving either. Since no bugs are leaving in July in that area either, Animal Crossing players in the southern hemisphere will be essentially living with the same creatures that they had been in June.

One thing that both hemispheres will get to experience when the next month rolls around is a new Fishing Tourney, which will be taking place on July 11. Players will be able to compete against their villagers to see who can land the most about of fish in a limited about of time.

Since these events happen only a few times a year, players will have a chance to enjoy the water in a unique way, especially with the Animal Crossing swimming update that will also be coming to the game.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
