Bind is one of the four maps available in Valorant. However, its main concept of allowing major aggression and fast rotation due to teleporters that can send you across the map often catches players off guard. Both A site and B site have many small structures and corners, which really puts an emphasis on ability usage to gain site control. Bind doesn't have a traditional map layout, and it really forces you to approach the game differently.
Not all the Agents are competitively viable on Bind, and overall the map is very unpredictable. Although the best way to master the map is to play as many games as possible on it, here are ten tips that will help players to get better and understand the map better
10 Portals Can't Be Reused In The Same Round
Bind is the only map in Valorant that currently has portals in it. It essentially allows players to travel from one location to another in just a few seconds. This completely changes the dynamics of the map, and majorly affects how the game is played. One thing to keep in mind while using the portals is that once used, it can't be reused by the same player in the same round. After using a Portal, players will find them in a small room with only one exit(can only be unlocked from inside). Before committing to teleport, players should always reaffirm the decision as it will only be a one-way ride.
9 Portals Make A Loud Sound Whenever Used
Whenever used, Portal's gate makes a loud sound that is easily audible in the surrounding areas. The loud noise will usually alert the opposing team, and in most cases, they will be ready to ambush you near the exit gate. Players using a portal in Bind should always be on their toes and should always be prepared to face a hoard of enemies after exiting through the portal.
8 Most Items Can Be Teleported
Players can teleport their items through any Portal in Bind. These not only include weapons but also includes Agent skills such as Cypher’s Spycam or Viper’s grenades.
Although not very significant, it can be a great tactic to lure out enemies. Throwing a weapon or item through a Portal will make a loud noise on the other side, which will alert the enemies. This will confuse the enemies, giving your team a small period to gain an advantage.
7 Orb Locations
An Orb is a sphere-like object that gives the player that has picked it 1 Ultimate point. Only two Orbs spawn in a given round, and they always spawn at the same spot. Players often ignore these Orbs, but they are very crucial as they help charge the Ultimate faster. In Bind, the first one can be found in Showers near A site and the second one near B Long. Players should always try to secure these Orbs as they can turn the tide of any game.
6 Best Agents To Play
The best Agents to play in Bind are Breach, Sova, Cypher, Raze, and Brimstone. Although almost every Agent is viable in Bind, the aforementioned ones are just a cut above the rest. Sova and Cypher are great at gathering information while the rest add a lot of value on both offense and defense.
All these Agents are also great at holding sites on their own, which makes a lot of room for the remaining members of the team to rotate using Portals.
5 A Site Defending Vs. B Site Defending
The chief aim of B site defending is to hold the choke-points and delay the push as much as possible, and because A site is larger compared to B site, it is less punishing. Site B can be held by a single player, and contrary to this, even if one player from the defending team dies at Site A, it becomes a hassle for the remaining team.
4 Attacking A Site
Attacking can be a daunting task for new players as there are a lot of angles that need to be cleared, and on top of that, players have to worry about the defensive abilities of the opposing team.
A standard A site push comprises 3-4 players split between two paths to A site, commonly called Showers and A short. While most players peek A short instantly, the optimal play is to draw out the enemies’ defensive utilities early on. This allows for an easier push later in the round as well as allow players to save their abilities for when they can be used best.
3 Attacking B Site
A standard B Site take consists of 1 or 2 players taking Hookah while remaining players push B long to seize the site. Players pushing Hookah need to be extra careful as it is very small, which makes it an ideal spot for the enemy team to lay out traps. A good way to approach Hookah is by utilizing utilities such as Brimstone’s smoke. This allows easier access to Hookah and thus makes attacking A site easier.
2 Cypher’s Territory
Cypher is one of the strongest Agents in Bind, especially when defending B site. As mentioned before, the B site is quite compact and pretty small when compared to A site. This perfectly suits Cypher, whose abilities allow him to hold B site all alone. His Trapwire is a great asset to have, and when used correctly, can delay any attack on the B site. Cypher also has a Spycam, which can potentially identify any attack before it actually takes place.
1 More Practice
A no-brainer, but most players often ignore the importance of practice and gaining experience. Even though Bind is fairly easy to understand, it’s quite different when compared to other maps. It’s the only map that has 2 plant sites instead of 3, and the Portals often confuses new players, more than helping them. Mastering Bind comes down to more practice learning the map as it comes. There isn’t one particular way to approach the map, and the more you learn, the more you will do better in it.
