Since its debut fourteen years ago, Roblox has recently seen a massive surge in popularity that is not slowing down. After surpassing Minecraft's monthly active user base last August, the creation game's staff announced that it recently passed another astounding milestone.
At last weekend's sixth annual Roblox Developers Conference, developer Roblox Corporation talked about Roblox's still-growing popularity. Revealing that the creative platform now has 150 million active users per month, Roblox founder and CEO David Baszucki also announced that Roblox creators could earn over $250 million this year. Statistics from the conference also revealed some of the game's most popular creations, like the game "Adopt Me!" which users have played over 10 billion times. Earlier this year, the experience also saw over 1.6 million concurrent users. Other games offered similar player figures.
These figures show an explosive growth from 2019, when Roblox passed 100 million monthly active users. They also reflect the result of a recent study, which claimed that over half of children in the United States are using the digital sandbox.
However, Roblox Corporation has clear plans to expand Roblox's American popularity worldwide. The developers recently announced that the sandbox game will support automatic machine translations for other languages that the platform supports.
Roblox is available now on Android, iOS, PC, and Xbox One.
