Trials Of Mana: The Best Class Path For Each Party Member

The year 2020 has been a good year for gamers that love remakes and remasters with the likes of the Resident Evil 3 Remake, Xenoblade Chronicles: The Definitive Edition, the Mafia series, the Yakuza Remasters, and of course the biggest one of them all the Final Fantasy VII Remake.

However, in addition to Final Fantasy VII, Square-Enix has remade another fan-favorite JRPG for the west with the Trials of Mana remake. While it didn’t have the same level of hype as the former, Trials is an excellent game in its own right with its real-time combat system and multiple characters, storylines, abilities, and job classes there’s perhaps more value for money than FFVII.

Choosing the path that each character can follow is part of the fun in Trials of Mana. While there’s no right or wrong classpath, making the right choices can allow for a much more balanced experience.

6 Riesz

Riesz is a supporting character with good physical attack capabilities. She is best suited to the role of casting buffs and debuffs to gain an advantage in battle. Her Class 2 choices will come down to a choice between the Valkyrie and the Rune Maiden. Players should choose the Valkyrie as it allows her to give the party much-needed strength boosts in battle.

With Valkyrie selected as her class 2, Riesz will only be able to select between the Starlancer and the Vanadis but the other options are the Dragon Master and the Fenrir Knight. Riesz’s Starlancer is the best choice for her in class 3 as it will allow her to learn more abilities to provide strength buffs to her allies. Finally, players will be able to choose between Meteorite and Brynhildr but with the Elysium Slash attack and the extra status boosts the Meteorite class is her best.

5 Duran

Duran is the second strongest physical attacker in the game is a good choice for first time players of Trials of Mana. His starting class is the Warrior and he’ll remain in this class until he reaches level 18 after roughly 8-9 hours of gameplay.

At Class 2 players will have a choice between the Gladiator and the Knight. Players should choose the Gladiator class due to the increase in attack power for Duran and the elemental buffs for physical attacks that he can cast on the party using Elemental Sabers.

Then at level 38 players should choose the Duelist class which will allow Duran to learn dark elemental buffs for attacks and it will make him one of the strongest attackers at this class. The final Class options are unlocked at the end of the game with the Berserker and the Divine Hero. Players should choose The Berserker to unlock Frenzy and Helion Fury both of which will allow Duran to hit enemies with massive damage.

4 Kevin

Kevin is the strongest physical attack in the game but has weaker defensive capabilities than Duran. At Class 2 he will have the option of choosing between the Monk or the Brawler. Since Kevin is a natural fighter, players should choose The Brawler at class 2 which will give him a good boost in attacking power.

At Class 3 Kevin will then have the option of choosing between Divine Fist, Warrior Monk, Fatal Fist, and Enlightened. While the Warrior Monk does offer some interesting healing spells, players should continue to take advantage of Kevin’s natural attack power and choose Fatal Fist in class 3. This will allow him to hit enemies with massive damage and learn the Seiryu Strike to annihilate multiple enemies at once.

Finally, Kevin will have the post-game class choice of the Beast King and the Annihilator. Players should choose the Annihilator in class 4 to continue Kevin’s path toward being the most destructive physical force on the battlefield.

3 Angela

Angela is a powerful magic caster and arguably the most powerful in the game. She will start as a Magician until Class 2 where players will be able to choose between the Sorceress and the Mysticist as soon as she hits level 18. Players should choose Sorceress in class 2 as it allows Angela to cast more powerful elemental spells.

At level 38 players will now have a choice of the Archmage, Grand Diviner, Magus, and the Rune Seer. Players should choose the Magus in class 3 because it has the highest magic attack damage and allow Angela to learn all of the Class 2 Sorceress’ elemental spells. Finally, at the end game Angela will have a choice between the Spellbinder Class and the Mystic Queen. Both are powerful choices but players should choose the Spellbinder at class 4 due to the amount of attack damage she can hit enemies with and the area of effect Class Strike known as Ton Annihilation.

2 Hawkeye

Hawkeye isn’t capable of doing massive physical damage like Duran or Kevin so he is best used as a supporting mage. At class 2 players can choose between the Ranger and the Ninja but the Ninja is easily the best choice due to its stat debuffs which can be cast on enemies and the elemental magic.

At level 38 players will be able to choose between Nightblade, Ninja Master, the Nomad, and the Rogue. Players should choose the Nightblade at class 3 this will allow him to nullify enemy attacks with the Weapon Smack and silence them with the Needle Shower. Finally, players will be able to choose between the Vigilante or the Wardenkeep in class 4. The Vigilante is the best choice for players because of his Dark Zone ability which will allow him to decrease enemy attack power right at the start of a battle.

1 Charlotte

Charlotte is the natural healer of the group so making sure she follows that path though her class choices are important. At class 2 Charlotte will have the choice between a Priestess or an Enchantress but with a boost in spirit, the Priestess is the best choice for her.

At class 3 Charlotte can choose between a High Cleric, a Sage, a necromancer, and a Warlock. Choosing the Sage class is the best option to keep her in a supporting role. With this ability, she can remove status ailments and cast saber magic on the whole party. Finally, Charlotte will be able to choose between the High Priestess and the Chaosbringer. With improved healing for all allies and the Salvation ability, she will become one of the most useful characters in the game.
