The Titans are the stars of the Titanfall series, obviously. This is despite the game's pilots arguably being the most fun humans to play as in any first-person shooter, with their ability to wall run and double jump being the best that any FPS has even made (sorry Call of Duty).
Despite that and their arsenal of cool weapons, Titans are the series' main focus, and it's not hard to see why. Here is a comprehensive list of Titans in Titanfall 2 from worst to best so that can help you pick which one you want to dominate the battlefield with.
7 Scorch
Starting off this list with what is considered the lowest tier Titan in Titanfall 2 with Scorch. Scorch is exactly what you think it is, it is a Titan built around the idea that scorching people until they are nothing but a small pile of ash is the best way to win a battle.
Scorches, despite have some of the most literal firepower, aren't the best when facing off against other titans though and are generally considered to be within the lowest tier of Titans to have, if not the lowest. This is due to a combination of things, one of which being the double-edged sword of being able to take a lot of damage, but also being slow and large, making you a very noticeable and easy to hit target.
6 Monarch
Moving slightly up the ladder with the Titan that got its own DLC for its introduction, Monarch. Despite being named after royalty, there isn't too much that is royal about it. This Titan is literally made from the remains of two destroyed Vanguard-class Titans, salvaged and put together.
This might explain why its not the strongest Titan, as or all that we know it might just be put together with some duck tape and the hope that it holds.
5 Legion
Moving onto our next Titan with Legion. This Titan is one that excels at both super long range and super close-range battles. This is because it has two different firing modes for its weapon. The first is a shotgun-like firing mode which is perfect for any Titans or pilots trying to get the jump on it. Its second firing mode is more akin to that of a Sniper rifle, being able to pick apart enemy Titans from long range. The only problem is that Legion can take a lot of damage fighting at every range so they will need someone who can heal them basically after every fight because if they win they will be close to death.
4 Northstar
Moving on to a Titan with the power of flight! Northstar was built around the ability to do one thing, and that was move around the battlefield like a giant mosquito. The mosquito analogy doesn't just end at flight however, as this titan can sting like one too. This is because of the weapons that it carries, that being its plasma rifle that can fire a weak blast if fired quickly, but if Northstar chooses to charge its shot, it can become a powerful shot.
3 Ronin
The bronze medal Titan on our list goes to the Ronin class Titan. This Titan is one of the most versatile in the series, being able to fulfill many roles for a team, from being a fast and mobile scout to a front line damage dealer, to even enough sustain and armor to act as a pseudo-tank.
This Titan specializes in dealing massive amounts of damage in short, quick bursts. This combined with its speed and Arcwave ability makes it a danger for any lower health titan. Also, let's just be honest, being a mech named Ronin with a giant sword is just awesome, especially if you're a fan of the Gundam series.
2 Ion
Our silver place medal goes to the Titan chassis known as Ion. Ion is a fairly beginner-friendly Titan, being a solid all-rounder with some mechanics that train you to play the game efficiently. This Titan, similarly to the Ronin class, can play many different roles in the game and when it comes to Titan vs. Titan fights, Ion's vortex shield is one of the best defenses and offences against most Titans. The only problem is that overall, this Titan's damage output isn't the strongest and running out of energy mid-fight practically leaves it completely defenseless.
1 Tone
And for the best Titan in Titanfall 2 we turn to Tone. Our gold medal Titan earns its number one spot for a few different reasons. Firstly, but also least importantly, is the most popular titan, both being voted by the community and being the most used for its strong ability to fight at long and medium-range, where most fights in the game happen. Tone's particle wall also makes up for its relative squishy-ness while providing her with a way to get off her damage while also staying protected, especially in maps with a lot of choke points.
